Angry Catholic’s Email Threat to Gay Connecticut Lawmakers Revealed
Angry Catholic’s Email Threat to Gay Connecticut Lawmakers Revealed: ”
Last week I posted about a Catholic man who was arrested after sending a threatening email to two gay Connecticut lawmakers.
The legislators, state senator Andrew McDonald, and state representative Michael Lawlor, were instrumental in the states same-sex marriage battle,
but the threats made by Kane were over a church oversight bill that
would have altered the legal, financial, and administrative structure
of local parishes, giving local parishioners more control. Catholics
turned out to protest the bill in mid-March, after a push from local Bishops.
At least one newspaper saw Catholics using this as an excuse to
exercise their anger over the states same-sex marriage decision,
targeting the two gay lawmakers.
The content of the email from Kane was revealed in court today, Fox 61 reports. Kane wrote:
‘You better hope myself and other Catholics dont find out where you
live, cause theres hell to pay for your attack on the church.
(expletive) off. God hates gay sex.’
Earlier reports by the New Haven Advocate that the threats were specific death threats and contained the word ‘kill’ may have been misreported, Fox 61 told Towleroad. The lawmakers reportedly received thousands of emails from around the country.

This makes me want to cry. I do not believe this is ok. God loves all mankind. Everyone knows I am a very faithful Christian, everyone knows how I feel about the act of homosexual behavior. I think it is wrong becasue that is what the Word of God tells me. I also know that the two commmandments that Jesus tells us are most important are to 1. Love the Lord your God with all you heart, all your soul and all your mind. 2. Love your neighbor as yourself. It is because of that I do not dare to condemn a man. That is an issue between himself and God. I also know that if I didn’t love someone because they sinned, then I would not be able to love anyone. That is not very Christ-like. We all fall short of the glory of God. That makes us human. I am sad because once again, the media and the secular world picks up on the people that have a claim on the love of God. NOT ALL people that love GOD and find the issue of homosexuality wrong are hate-filled condeming mongers. I for one am sad that this man took it upon himself to speak for God and not show the love and support that is what we are called as Christians to have. I do not any man has the right to use the name of God as his shield for displaying hate… God tells me in His word I am not to seek revenge, because vengence is His. In this man’s case he should have turned to prayer NOT his own words
So I for one apologize that a man cloaked as a loving person would threaten the life of anyone. Please remember, there are more Christians that LOVE than hate…but it is the ones that hate that are covered in the media..
Sorry you have to encounter hate, but remember the shoe fits on both feet… I for one have been called some pretty nasty names and told how I think because my reasoning is not the same as others. I know that the swing is occuring and the Christians are afraid to speak out… well some of them. I for one Love God and know that He is love and because I wish to be as much like Him as I can.. I chose to love.. NOT agree with, but to love despite all sin.. no matter what the sin… because mine is just as ugly as everyone elses!
Please remember.. God does love, but that love must be accepted, and when it is accepted, it is your desire to please God. You do not wish to go against His Word. That is it.. IN Psalms 37:4 It says “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart” That means as you are in a loving relationship with the author and creator of life and all things, your desires become lined up with His. The sin you once found comfort in, becomes something you flee from. That does not mean you will be perfect, but it will be your desire to please God. He will give you the desires of your heart because your desire become the same as His… To have all mankind free from the bondage of sin.
“…may the Lord bless and keep you, may His face shine upon you and may his countenance be upon you!”
