2 new Puget orca calves seen; 1 adult male missing

I so love good news stories, and only thing better is the local orca sightings. This one has both. What do you think? One thing I am working on this year is getting out more and getting pictures of all the great things around where I live. Orcas are one of the most amazing animals and I intend to get some photos of them.

FRIDAY HARBOR, Wash. — The Center for Whale Research at Friday Harbor reports two additions to Puget Sound orca pods and one big subtraction.

Researcher Ken Balcomb says one new calf has been born in J pod and one in L pod.

Balcomb also says a 31-year-old male knows as L-57 and called Faith has not been seen, although two females he generally travels with have been sighted several times since October in U.S. and Canadian waters.

The Kitsap Sun reports the loss of an active reproductive male would be especially bad news for the Puget Sound killer whale population. Seven presumably died last year dropping the endangered populati”

Amazingly how many, (you would think) “intelligent” people follow what this crack pot says. Blows me away, really!

Amazon wish list

Okay, I have been watching for this thing for months now. Fell in love with the first one, but told myself I need to wait till the second version came out. New technology is something you learn to wait for version 2 usually.

Not only that, I wanted to make sure it was something I really wanted. I have been reading more and more but I do hate lugging around more and more stuff. Trust me it has been an issue for me of late and I have a whole other entry planned for that.

To say I am a political/news junkie is being kind to say the least. Equally, I read tons of how to books on everything from photography, to anything apple, and of course I have been on a real estate binge like you would not believe. Problem is I now have these things piled up all over the place and can’t seem to get them. Not only that, but at over $25 a pop on average, well you get the picture.

When the Kindle came out I so thought this was a perfect answer for me. I could carry a few books with me and a newspaper or two. If you had to spend as much time as I do in waiting rooms you would understand. It is just nice to always have something to read and use that time productively. But, how many books can someone really carry with them?

Introduce the kindle2. It can carry all my books, newspapers, and it would be awesome because when I can’t actually read, it will read it to me and then I can pick up were ever I left off. I WANT THIS THING!

Have looked at all the ones out there and this seems like the best one. It not only gets much better pricing on books, you can download them from anywhere for free. This is so me.

I have added my Amazon wish list to the sidebar on the right. Kinda impressed myself that I was able to figure that one out. So, I guess that is enough for tonight…have a great day tomorrow!!!
