Regulators probed Madoff eight times over 16 years: report | U.S. | Reuters
Not that this is earth shattering. Just wondering when something is done with the continued failure of the US Government to do its job. No wonder we can’t stop people from flying planes into buildings.
These people have been told for YEARS, something was amiss with Madoff. For years they have been told, and even checked this guy out eight times, and they couldn’t find anything. No wonder no one can believe anything that comes from Washington. Who should be prosecuted in this case? Seems the SEC is an accomplice in this whole thing. They at least are guilty of driving the get away car.

Regulators probed Madoff eight times over 16 years: report | U.S. | Reuters: “
(Reuters) – Bernard L. Madoff Investment Securities LLC was examined at least eight times in 16 years by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and other regulators, who often came armed with suspicions, the Wall Street Journal said.
SEC officials followed”

Madoff should be sent back to jail to await his trial.
He is a great risk for flight and is said to be sending jewelry offshore for safety or use later when he takes flight.
Also, the SEC should be given a 5% haircut. Fire the TOP 5%, starting with COX, and let that be a lesson. That would get their attention and those left to carry on would be focussed on their job which is to seek out and prosecute fraud.
Don’t let Cox slip quietly into the night. Fire him!
